Note from the webmaster: We update this web site at least once a week during our summer concert season. This week our conductor will be Mark Eveleth, who recently retired from his thirty-five year tenure as the band director at West Burlington High School. Now that Mark has retired he tells us that he's happy to have more time to practice and promises to get his trumpet chops in great shape! Mark has decided to take a "sentimental journey" through his career by programming pieces that he and his students particularly enjoyed playing over the years and we're certain that you will enjoy them too!
Mark's selections will include: Fall River Overture by Robert Sheldon; A Hymn for Band by Hugh Stuart; La Banda Nascente by B. Sbraccia, edited by Frederick Fennell; Hopak from "The Fair of Sorochinsk" by Modest Moussorgsky, Selections from Chicago by John Kander and Fred Ebb, arranged by Ted Ricketts; Manhattan Beach March by John Philip Sousa, arranged by Keith Brion and Loras Schissel; Three on the Isle by Hugh Stuart, The Great Locomotive Chase by Robert W. Smith, Count Basie Salute arranged by John Higgins, Alamo March by Karl King arranged by James Swearingen; and our traditional closing march, The Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa.
