A new feature at our concerts is printed programs. Here Municipal Band Foundation Board Member Pat Cazin hands the first program to one of our most loyal audience members.
June 2, 2013 -- After officially beginning our 2013 season at Burlington's Memorial Day service, the first of our Sunday evening Crapo Park concerts was conducted by Jacob Davis.

Though Pat Cazin handed out the first program (he had printed them) future band member Madison Morris handed out all the rest. Madison, sister to euphonium player Joseph Morris, did a terrific job of taking programs around to the members of our audience!
KBUR’s Steve Hexom did his usual sterling job of introducing the band.
Jim Priebe, besides playing in the band, is also President of the Burlington Municipal Band Foundation. Before the concert, Jim welcomed everyone to the 2013 season and asked audience members for their support as the Foundation begins its fundraising efforts on behalf of the band.
Conductor Jacob Davis gave interesting information about each of his selections.
Though it had been a cold and cloudy day, the sun came out during the concert and made it seem a bit more like summer in spite of the cold.
As all band members must, flutist Kendall Moore watches the conductor carefully.

Clarinetists Sue Kristensen and Mary Priebe have been stand partners in the band for 48 years!
As always, the band closed the concert with The Stars and Stripes Forever, with the brasses standing on the final strain.
In response to the plea for support from the audience, Madison Morris decided to donate a symbolic “first dollar” to the fundraising campaign. Thank you Madison!
June 15, 2013 -- The band participated in Burlington's annual Steamboat Days Parade, as we do every year. These photos were taken before the start of the parade.
For the fourth year, the band rode on a trailer generously provided, decorated, and towed by Tim and Loretta Thomann from Thomann Automotive of Middletown.

A sudden downpour, still twenty minutes prior to the start of the parade, brought out the umbrellas and raincoats.

(or perhaps they are waiting for someone to "activate the transporter beam").

June 16, 2013 -- Our concert, conducted by Ted Francis, featured Aldo Leopold Middle School music teacher and choral director Becky Evans as soprano soloist.
We continue our new tradition of having printed programs for our audience, distributed by volunteers at the start of each concert.

(Jason plays a variety of instruments in our band).
June 23, 2013 -- Our annual Teddy Bear's Picnic concert, featuring music for kids of all ages, was conducted by Carmen Lacnitt.
KBUR's Steve Hexom, who introduces most of our concerts, brought his long-time friend "Little Bear."
