Since ninety-nine percent of the rehearsals and performances of the Burlington Municipal Band occur during summertime in Iowa, heat is often a factor -- both in our outdoor concerts (where our west-facing band shell acts as a sort of reflector oven), and even in our indoor rehearsals, where air conditioning cannot always be counted upon. This week's conductor, Adam Creager, came to our Monday evening rehearsal armed with both a towel and his music teaching shirt, but it could not save him from soaking through both by the end of the evening (you'll note that Adam remained cheerful).
